What is Kingston Yard?
At Kingston Yard, we exist to be Cedar Rapids’ gathering place - a vibrant, inclusive, and family-friendly destination where people come to eat, play, live, and work.
We are Cedar Rapids’ premier outdoor entertainment district!
Located on the southwest side of Downtown Cedar Rapids, Kingston Yard is home to restaurants, salons, apartments, and commercial businesses. Centered in the middle of everything, is the lawn space featuring the ImOn Stage. Our parking garage, operated by Park CR, will open in January 2026.
The vision behind Kingston Yard began in 2020 when the City of Cedar Rapids began researching ways to develop the unused land at 1st and 1st. Now, just 5 years later, the project will be complete in November 2026 with the opening of the A.C. Marriott hotel.
We welcome all visitors to the west bank of the Cedar River, just as the namesake-settler, David King, did with his ferry crossing 175 years ago.
